Here is a website created by a Middle School Science Teacher (http://www.middleschoolscience.com/). After reviewing the website, I found it very useful for teachers who are teaching at that grade level. The teacher who created the site covers a variety of topics such as lesson planning, newslinks, resources that other teachers would find very useful and may possibly implement into their own classrooms. What I found most appealing about this website was the fact that students could check what they had for homework if they happened to be absent, sick, etc. Parents would also enjoy this site because they would be able to view what their child has for homework and print out the handout needed along with other resources they may use to help their child. The teacher's idea of including her lesson plan book was a brilliant idea. Lesson plans that were taught to students on a variety of topics are accessible to those who are interested or are seeking information covering that area.
Despite the many good aspects of the site, I found that the site lacked any visual appeal or graphics. Other than that, I found that the teacher provided a great deal of information that other teachers would find great use in and can adapt to their own lesson plan ideas.

Fihmiya,
I came across a similar website and thought it was very interesting that teachers create websites as a resource for other teachers to use. That's such a great way to share resources and make the most of the information each teacher has. I would definitely recommend that you check out some of the websites that teachers create for their students. Some of them are disappointing (which shows why students don't use them) and some of them are so good, you'd be inspired to create your own website! Feel free to check out the link in my posting for this week's blog--I thought it was representative of a great website!
Sincerely,
Duaa
Fihmiya,
I liked the site as well. What have you considered at major components for a website for your classroom? As developing a site could be labor-intensive, what shortcuts or work arounds are available?
Fihmiya,
I love this website! I loved the lesson plan book and how she has pdf files that teachers can use. I put this website in my favorites because I love some of the lesson plans that are given. Also, I like how she organized her website with all of the contents on the left. Its easy to navigate through her website. Good post....thanks for the resource!
Leah,
For me personally, lesson planning is a major component and getting materials organized in order to perform the tasks/assignments at hand.
Sohnia,
I am glad to hear that you found the website very useful. I too thought the site gave such great examples of lesson plans as well as ways to organize materials. That teacher covered a great area of topics providing other teachers a great of resources which can be useful in a classroom.
Fihmiya-
Good site- like the conciseness of the topic information.
